The idea behind hello.santa

As a salon, we have the unique opportunity to closely engage with our guests, giving us valuable insights into the challenges individuals in our community face—an experience that many businesses may not have. We witness a wide range of life events, from joyful occasions like weddings and job interviews to more solemn moments such as funerals or personal struggles. Given the strong relationships we build with the individuals we serve every day, we believe that it is our duty to uplift our community. Hearing and experiencing firsthand the effects of those struggles, we wanted to make it our goal is to help, and we aim to do that by raising awareness about the hardships of our city. To tell people about our efforts, we want to use this as an opportunity to make a positive impact in our local communities and because community is so important to us, and we set out to create this movement in hopes to help support local families particularly during the tough holiday season. For numerous families, the Christmas season can bring about stress, making it hard to embrace the festive spirit. Our goal is to help restore that joy. In 2022, Hello Salon successfully raised funds to assist a local firefighter battling cancer, and in 2023 we helped a baby battling CHD, and we are eager too extend our help to others in need.

We are so grateful to have the opportunity to do this fundraiser, and to help our city, and are blown away every year at the generosity of the people we are lucky to have around us. In the words of Margaret Mead, "Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it's the only thing that ever has."

Nominations

Nominations can be made by the nominee themselves or by someone close to them. When the family, person or Organization is chosen we will contact the nominator and set up a time to contact the nominee and explain Hello.Santa to them and ask if they would like to participate. The Nominee is welcome to decline if they do not feel comfortable with it.

Hello.Salon also welcomes nominations for Organizations in the Tulsa area that are close to the heart of our patrons, tell us about them and how we can get into contact with them.

Below is a nomination form that asks a series of questions that helps us get to know the nominee, their story, and how we can best help them. We ask that you completely fill out the application to the best of your knowledge and submit it by October 31st, and we at Hello.Salon thank you for your participation.

By November 1st we will begin to accept donations for the 2023 Hello.Santa season. We will have a few options for donations,

Above we have a link that directs you to the Hello.Santa Venmo account, there you can submit your donations. The Hello.Santa Venmo account is strictly for fundraising purposes and we want to ensure that all donors know their contributions are going directly to the family and no where else.

You can Donate with your debit or credit card directly from our website.

You can add your donation to your ticket at your next appointment, when making donations in salon we will have a Christmas tree and where we will display your name to represent your generous donation!

Update on Our 2023 Family

Ramsyn is the infant son of Morgan and Mason Morris, Ramsyn was born pre-maturely at 31 weeks and while in the nicu doctors discovered a heart murmur in his heart and after undergoing a heart echo procedure he was diagnosed with congenital heart disease. Ramsyn also has other symptoms of CHD such as, hypo plastic aortic arch, coarctation of the arch and VSD. Ramsyn will need several open heart surgeries over his lifetime and due to Tulsa not having pediatric heart surgeons they will have to be life flighted to OU Medical in Oklahoma City where his surgeries can be preformed.

Update as of October 1st 2024

Baby Ramsyn turned 1 in July and is healing and growing so fast and as of the end of September 2024 Ramsyn has undergone his surgery and is doing great! He is currently recovering and healing!

We thank everyone for their support and rallying behind Baby Ramsyn. We raised $3,000 for the Morris Family in 2023.
